President John Mahama has officially sworn in Justice Yaw Apau and Gabriel Pwamang as Supreme Court judges.
Mr. Pwamang was a politician and member of the People’s National Convention (PNC) while Yaw Apau was a Sole Commissioner of the Judgment Debt Commission.
Though the two had been vetted by Parliament’s Appointment Committee, the nomination of Pwamang was earlier challenged by madama Eva Oboshie Sai at the General Legal Council.
The Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Woode subsequently formed a Disciplinary Committee to investigate the matter.
He was later cleared after the Committtee established that the said complaint against Mr. Pwamang “has been withdrawn by the complainant.”
