The opposition All Progressive Congress has lambasted Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, for not making “any significant change” in the country since he took over as president in 2010.
The Publicity Secretary of the APC in Ghana, Sampson Chucks in an interview on the Citi Breakfast Show said that Goodluck Jonathan has only been “whitewashing old power plants and commissioning them.”

The election according to some analysts will be the most keenly contested in the democratic history of Nigeria as former army chief Muhammadu Buhari battles the sitting president.
Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show, Sampson Chuks was confident his party will win because Nigerians “all over North, East South West are yearning for change.”
“We are going to win because the Progressive have done what has not been done before. This is the first time the Progressive party have come together to take power and we believe that this time around, we will take power. This election is not Buhari, it is not APC. It is God, the battle belongs to the Lord and the battle has been won.,” he stated.

However the spokesperson for the People’s Democratic Party in Ghana Ego David was confident that President Goodluck Jonathan would retain power.
He watered down the APC’s criticism against Jonathan, saying the party is “only interested in spreading falsehood about Goodluck Jonathan.”
The Agricultural policy which was introduced by Goodluck Jonathan “has reduced rice importation to the country,” he said.
According to him, discerning Nigerians know that Goodluck Jonathan is doing a “good job.”
“The message of Goodluck Jonathan is continuity and forward movement,” he noted.
Successful elections
Meanwhile President Mahama has said the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will do everything possible to ensure that Nigeria’s upcoming elections are successfully held.
President Mahama ,who is also the Chiarman of ECOWAS said this when he met with the Chairman of the INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega and his team to discuss the state of their preparedness for the March 28 elections.
Nigeria’s election which was scheduled for February 14th was postponed to March 28th due to the security reasons.
The Nigerian Electoral Commission, said the postponement will give a newly-formed multinational force, the opportunity to reclaim areas controlled by Boko Haram.
