“…We are looking at a situation where delegates will be able to make choices that reflect the thinking of their constituencies and not their personal thinking because of their association with the candidate. People should not allow themselves to be influenced by material things so as to elect the wrong people into the leadership of the party because it will take another four years before people are elected again…,”: he stated.
The party has also called on all members to see the event as a family gathering that will give them an opportunity to choose leaders who will ensure the party’s victory in 2016.
Speaking to Citi News, the Director of Communications,James Asante urged party faithfuls to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner during the event.
“We are saying that they should open their eyes, we are going to have fun. It is a family meeting and we expect everybody to come. Come and share the joy, make sure you do the right thing. They should not indulge in anything that will put the party into disrepute,” he advised.
An aggrieved member of the party, Emmanuel Didiyie secured an interlocutory injunction on the party’s congress but withdrew the suit on Thursday.
