The incumbent Greater Accra Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker has retained his position in the just ended regional elections of the party.
He won by polling 157 votes while his closest contender, Daniel Amartey polled 103 votes.
[contextly_sidebar id=”8luVyLv3QJtuhoKBI3Fxhr9hhnmBKPhl”]Two other contenders in the chairmanship race, Steven Akwetey and Henry Ekow Manly Spain polled 52 and 22 respectively.
The Regional Secretary position was won by Victor Quarshie and the Assistant Secretary position went to Patricia Addy.
Anthony Nukpenu was retained as the Regional Organizer and he will be assisted by Maxwell Ofosu.
The incumbent Treasurer of the party in the region, Alhaji Yahaya Kundow also retained his position and the Deputy Treasurer went to Alhaji Haruna Seidu.
The Propaganda Secretary position was won by Jerry Johnson and his deputy will be Francis Nartey.
Citi News’ Fred Djabano reported that the election was peaceful, “there was no violence, there was no confusion and there is a lot of jubilation going on now.”
Allotey Jacobs is new C/R NDC chair
In the Central Region, the former Central Regional Communications Director of the NDC, Bernard Allotey Jacobs emerged winner in the regional chairmanship race.
He beat the incumbent chairman, Samuel Adu Yeboah by 79 votes.
Citi News’ Central regional correspondent, Kwamena Bamfo Adjei reported that the Youth Organizer position went to Ishmeal Prah who had 31 votes beating Nurudeen Kobina Essah by 25 votes.
For the Deputy Youth Organizer, Awal Oneal had 32 votes becoming the 1st Deputy Youth Organizer and the 2nd Deputy Youth Organizer went to Eric Dadson with 28 votes.
The Women Organizer went to Sistiana Ekuwa Swanzy with 19 votes beating Emma Ahunu Armah and Tina Frimpong by 15 votes respectively.
Faustina Lamptey secured 31 votes to be elected as 1st Deputy Women Organizer and Esther Sam had 18 votes for the 2nd Deputy Women Organizer position.
