First Lady, Lordina Mahama is expected to speak at the Bush Institute’s 2014 African First Ladies Summit on Wednesday.
The one-day forum which is being organized on the sidelines of the three-day US-Africa Leaders Summit is on the theme ‘Investing in Our Future.’
Mrs. Mahama is among over 35 Africa first ladies partaking in the summit. The summit will highlight the critical role first spouses play as advocates for women and girls.
It will also address challenges and provide solutions for societal issues that primarily face women and girls.
The summit is expected to bring together leaders from non-governmental organizations, private sector partners, faith-based and grassroots organizations and other leading experts.
It is being organized by the Office of the First Lady, Michelle Obama, the George W. Bush Institute, and the U.S. Department of State.
