Northern Regional Directorate of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has hinted its readiness to manage the Ebola disease in case of any eventuality.
It is against this backdrop all district hospitals and other auxiliary health facilities in the region have been directed to create isolated wards to accommodate Ebola patients in case of any reported cases.
Through staff durbars, all health personnel in the region have been orientated on the symptoms of the Ebola disease and how to manage it.
In compliance with the directive, management of the Tamale Central Hospital certainly isolated one of the wards for that contingency purpose.
Deputy Director of Public Health of the Northern Regional Health Directorate, Dr. Jacob Mahama exclusively told Citi News the directorate had strengthened its infection control methods.
Dr. Mahama said the directorate expected more disaster supported equipment from the Ghana Health Service headquarters for onward distribution to the major hospitals.
Most Tamale residents expressed their ignorance on the Ebola disease and thus called for intensive public sensitization.
