The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has bemoaned the fast pace at which social ills are claiming the lives of the youth in recent times.
“Social perversion, homosexuality; an abomination which is currently gaining currency, drug abuse, lesbianism, corruption etc have left all well meaning Ghanaians worried about the future of our society”, the National Co-coordinator for the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship, Francis Fosu said.
Francis Fosu however said the church was ready to tackle such vices head-on “with God on our side.”
He was speaking at the launch of this year’s National Campus Congress, dubbed Glory 2014.
The Deeper Life Campus Fellowship is an inter-denominational fellowship created by the church to reach out to a chunk of the country’s youth “for Christ”.
Speaking at the launch, Francis Fosu chastised human rights advocates for propagating social vices including same sex intimacy, premarital sex, legalization of prostitution etc, in the name of human rights.
“This has made sin look harmless and some Christians are even afraid to speak up against it for fear of being cited for human rights violations,” he complained.
“It is in the light of this that the DCLF has made it a mandate to meet the nation’s intellectual community every year and influence them with the word of God to enable them to become positive change makers who will capitalize on their knowledge to lead millions to Christ,” he said.
The congress is also designed to handle the academic challenges of students. Participants would be equipped with “time-tested skills for all-round academic success”, imbibing in participants and the spirit of entrepreneurship
The theme for this year’s congress is Restoration of God’s Glory among Intellectuals”.
It comes off on Wednesday July 16 to Sunday July 20 2014 at the Deeper Life Camp ground, Brofoyedru in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
