The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is calling for the arrest of former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu for her involvement in the payment of GHC 51 million judgement debt to Alfred Woyome.
His call follows a Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday which asked Mr. Woyome to refund the GHC 51 million paid to him as judgement debt by the state.
Mr. Agyepong who was instrumental in bringing to light the Woyome case told a New Patriotic Party (NPP) mini rally at Okiashie in Accra that Mrs Mould Iddrisu should be apprehended because she supervised a large portion of the payments as then AG.
He insisted that the matter should not end with an order for the money to be refunded but “Betty Mould Iddrisu should also be arrested. She used illegal means to pay the money.”
According to him, Mrs Iddrisu “has taken Ghanaians for fools for those who did not deserve to be paid money were unlawful paid huge judgment debts.”
He recalled that when he broke the news to Ghanaians on the said case, he was vilified “but now you have seen that the court has vindicated me.”
Mr. Agyapong called on government to take further actions by bringing all indicted persons to book.
