The National Executive Council(NEC) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is expected to meet within the week to decide on a plan for its presidential race.
The meeting which is scheduled to take place on June 19, will, among other things, firm up the regulations to govern the contest.
The party, a fortnight ago, announced that it will elect a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections on December 16, 2014.
The General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyepong, speaking to Citi News said that the meeting was necessary as there were several issues which needed to be addressed by the party.
These include the formation of the standing committees of the National Council of the party.
Meanwhile five people including former flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akuffo Addo have picked up their forms, with another leading contestant Alan Kyeremanteng, expected to pick up his nomination form later in the week.
