Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has expressed his desire to play in a more advanced position for the Black Stars.
The Juventus player who has been used mainly at left wing-back for the Italian champions started at left-back in Ghana’s World Cup defeat to USA on Monday.
Despite an impressive game which saw him create three chances and complete 91% of his passes, Asamoah maintains that he would prefer to play higher up the field.
The player told Ghanaian radio station Happy FM: “I am a player who likes to take on opponents, playing at the back makes it more difficult for me, I want to play up front.”
Asamoah has however maintained his readiness to play in any position he is assigned to.
“All lies with the decision of the coach,” he added.
The Black Stars next face Germany on Saturday and then take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal five days later.
