President John Dramani Mahama has promised the people of Akwapim in Akropong massive infrastructural development as well as fulfill all campaign promises by 2016.

The President made the promise when he addressed a gathering of chiefs and people of Akwapim in Akropong on his two-day working tour of the Eastern Region.

“By 2016 we will fulfill all promises; we have started the construction of the community based secondary schools. By 2016 all the Community based Secondary Schools will be built as promised,’’ he told the gathering at the durbar.

According to the President, this is necessary to show goodwill to  the people who made him president.

He pledged the commitment of his government to provide equitable development across the country.

The president used the occasion also to thank the people of Eastern Region and Akwapim in particular for their contribution towards his 2012 electoral victory.

He also promised to address the perennial water shortage the people of Akwapim face.

“I know that your biggest challenge here in Akuapim is water, but the government is expanding the Kpong Water treatment plant; this will increase the volume of water and when the project is completed, your water problem will be solved,’’ he said.
