The second edition of the Vlisco Women’s Month campaign has been officially launched in Accra.
Vlisco Women’s Month is a campaign used to celebrate and honour the exceptional achievements of women in West and Central Africa.
Speaking during the launch, Marketing Manager for the Vlisco in Ghana, Stephen Baidoo said the programme is Vlisco’s flagship promotional campaign that identify and reward women who have dreams, pursue them and go on to inspire others realize and achieve their dreams.
“This campaign takes its origin from the International Women’s Day; a day set aside to recognize and honour women for their achievements and contribution to the development of society,’’ he said.
According to him it is against this background that Vlisco have dedicated the entire month of March to celebrate women.
This year’s campaign has the them: ‘Dare To Dream’, a tribute to women who have the faith and courage to realize their dreams.
Three outstanding, young and enterprising women have been nominated as women who dared to dream and have become an inspiration and role models for many. They are; Anita Erskine-Amaizo, Ayesha Bedwei and Eugenia Adjoa Tachie-Menson.
Profile of Nominees
Anita Erskine-Amaizo – She started her career as a multi talented media personality. Her work across Africa inspired her business, Brand, Woman Africa, which uses a variety of tools to project the advancement of African women around the world. She is a devoted wife and mother and the host of Mogul and Pamper your Mum.
Ayesha Bedwei – She is a Tax Director at Pricewaterhouse Coopers and a board member of the Ghana Oil Club. Coming from a close-knit family, with parents who always encouraged her to aim high, she has overcome challenging life-changing events to be where she is today. She is a devoted mother who also volunteers for causes in line with her true passion-growing and developing young people for their future careers.
Eugenia Tachie-Menson – She is a social entrepreneur whose love for children and education led her to bring the USA’s scripps spelling bee to Ghana. Her charity, the Young Educators Foundation, runs this and other educational programmes for the children aged 8 to 18. She is also a Research Associate of Imani Ghana’s Forum for Education Reform, an alumnus of IVLP 2010 and a committed wife and mother.

Alternatively, you simply walk into the Vlisco store at the Acrra mall, pick a voting card an vote for your role model.
Voting ends on Saturday 29th March, 2014.
The nominee with the highest votes will be declared winner of the 2014 Vlisco Women’s Month Campaign. She will be revealed and crowned the ‘’Vlisco Brand Ambassador 2014’’ during the awards night on the 5th April, 2014 at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra.
