The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) has described President John Mahama’s state of the nations address as a deceit.
The President last week addressed Parliament on the state of the nation as stipulated in the 1992 Constitution.
The addressed was received with several criticism as people believed it did not adequately address the current economic state of the nation and the challenges of the other sectors.
According the PPP, the President decided to travel the path of propaganda painting what is far from the realities of the state of the nation.
Speaking to Citi News at a news conference to assess the President’s state of the nations address, director of operations of the PPP, Nana Ofori Owusu said the address lacked accuracy and direction.
He explained that the address refused to give Ghanaians “a direction for us to follow and for us to support government initiatives to ensure that government comes out of this horrible condition that we are in now.”
Mr. Owusu added that the address was “hollow” and filled with empty promises “that is not reflective in the budget and is disjointed at best.
He maintained that the President “did not tell us the true state of the nation.”
