militaryCustodians of the La stool lands are threatening to sue the Ghana Armed Forces for allegedly using brutal force to acquire lands owned by the La traditional area.

The East Dadekotopon Development Trust Management on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 served notice of seeking legal redress on attempts by the Military command to confiscate private lands outside the acquisition of Burma Camp, Airport and Trade Fair Centre

Addressing the media in Accra, Director of the East Dadekotopon Development Trust, Joseph Nii Nai Adjei said the La stool has legal title to the said lands around the designated areas aforementioned.

According to him, an Appeals Court in the past delivered consent judgement on a similar case in favour of the La stool and asked the military command to stay off the said lands.

Joseph Nii Nai complained that both private local and foreign investors, who legally acquired lands from the La stool continue to be gruesomely attacked by military personnel who have already demolished some private structures around Burma Camp, Airport and Trade Fair areas.

He fumed, “The days of military brutalization are over and we say enough is enough.”
