Accra Hearts of Oak have attributed their 2-1 win over AshGold to willingness and determination of the playing body.
The Phobians bounced back from their draw with King Faisal to get three points over the Miners with goals from Odupong Wellington and Paul Acquah and after the game, the Phobians highlighted the contributions of the players.
” The team’s strength today came from the desire of the players. We were delighted with the display they put up and even more pleasing was the home win after getting a point from Faisal”, said the club’s Public Relations Officer, Muheeb Saeed in an interview with Citi Sports on Wednesday.
The Phobians are now just eight points behind Kotoko after the Reds lost at home to Kpando Heart of Lions and that has given Hearts a renewed sense of hope ahead of the last eight fixtures of the season especially as they had a difficult start to their season especially at home.
” What the result does for us is that we are overcoming the early season jitters. We had to endure very tough results at home and the supporters were unhappy with us. Getting another win at home after beating Amidaus is very good news for us”, Saeed explained.
Hearts have 38 points and will play away to Liberty Professionals and at home to Heart of Lions in their next two league matches.
