1939604_756281137716378_1122646289_nThe President, John Mahama has served notice that Ghana cannot “continue to spend almost $2 billion each year to import food.”

A post on his Facebook page on Monday stated that his government “will help farmers all over the country to form associations to increase their production.”

The post added that an association of about 35,000 farmers and fishermen which was formed in the Kworli Area was “a true example for the way local producers should associate in order to benefit from the government’s support.”

The President during 57 Independence Day message asked Ghanaians to see every day as ‘Made in Ghana Day’ and once again called upon Ghanaians “to buy ‘Made in Ghana’ goods so we can reduce imports and achieve food security.”
