The situation, among others, is affecting efforts aimed at fighting teenage pregnancy.

Statistics available indicated that in the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem (KEEA) municipality alone, 497 teenagers got pregnant between January and September this year.

Also, in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese district, 280 teenage girls were recorded pregnant by health facilities in the district for the first half of 2017.

Contributors at a forum on teenage pregnancy in Cape Coast last Wednesday, said teenagers were doing all including exchanging sex for fish from fishermen to sell to augment family incomes and make ends meet.

The forum was organised by the Ghana Health Service with support from the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) to empower queens to help fight the scourge of teenage pregnancy in the region.

The forum observed that poverty levels were high in fishing and rural communities, and needed urgent and workable solutions to help provide relief for the most vulnerable in these communities.

About 40 queens from the KEEA and Abura Asebu Kwamankese districts attended the one-day forum to deliberate on issues affecting young people, particularly girls for better lives.

District Director of Nursing Services for KEEA, Mrs. Juliana Armah, said some of the teenagers were dropouts from a poor background or broken homes.

“Some give sex and take fish for their aged parents to sell to augment incomes,” she said.

She said such young pregnant girls were usually anaemic and suffered complications during birth.

“Their children are also usually malnourished and they perpetuate the cycle of poverty,” she added.

She said she was optimistic that the queens would help orient the young girls to stay away from irresponsible sexual behaviours.

Understanding the purpose of creation and the role of these hormones provides insights into three reasons God wants you to love and enjoy passionate sex:

1. Frequent lovemaking turns you into a better parent.

For over 3000 years in the Song of Solomon, God patiently taught us how to choose a lifelong sexual partner. In the true story, a young virgin of Israel must decide if she will marry rich, powerful King Solomon who loves only her body or the poor shepherd who cherishes and values her as a person.

The drama begins as Solomon succumbs to the heat of lust when he spies the beautiful girl working in the vineyards. He courts her over a whirlwind of three days as he repeatedly tells her how beautiful she is.

Instead of accepting his proposal, the maiden asks for time to think. She pleads with the palace virgins not to force her to marry Solomon before they learn to love each other. The story turns when the maiden experiences a wet dream that clears her mind.

She rejects Solomon in a not-so-kind or timid way and leaves to marry her shepherd. She tells her groom:

These hormones reward, refresh, and renew you after working hard to survive on a hostile planet. The more you share these hormones in the arms of your mate, the more you become creative and successful in your work.

3. Ecstatic lovemaking helps you glorify God.

God openly boasts about love making being his proudest, most brilliant accomplishment in the creation:

There are three things which are too wonderful for me,
Four which I do not understand:

Ancient man has always attempted to fly like the eagle. Finally, the Wright Brothers solved the puzzle. Man continues to improve on their initial discovery from airplanes, to rocket ships, to drones.

To scale a mountain, man must strap on cleats and use safety lines. Even then, he can’t go wherever he wants like the agile snake. Many men and women die while trying to imitate the serpent.

Matthew Maury said, “If God said paths are in the sea, I’m going to find them” (Psalms 8:8). He spent eighteen years charting the ocean’s currents. Today worldwide commerce and travel depend on them.

The eagle, the snake, and the paths in the sea testify to God’s superior intelligence in creating the world. And mankind seeks to replicate his divine wisdom. But the fourth is the most profound and difficult for man to figure out — the way of a man with a maid:

It’s more than a male hopping a female’s bones. Animals do that.
It’s more than a woman moaning and groaning. Prostitutes do that.
It’s more than a vibrator shaking up an orgasm. Laboratory subjects do that.

None can compare to God’s design for a man’s gentle touch to stir up a maid’s emotions and powerful sensations. Together they speak God’s beautiful language of love.

If you don’t cultivate a loving sexual relationship with your spouse, all of life becomes much harder:

Conventional wisdom and the media may have conditioned us to define orgasms with loud moans, accelerated breathing and a declaration of “I’m coming!” right before one crosses the finish line. Boy, if only it was that simple.

Fellas, do not always assume that she’s moaning and screaming because you are pounding her good or she is about to have a mind-blowing orgasm. Some women may be screaming, telling you to go faster or moaning with pleasure all to turn you on, stroke your ego and make you come faster when she is ready to call it quits. I am always willing to be wrong about this assessment though.

What can I say, I love shakers and twitches. I have not encountered a lot of shakers out there but they are among us. My advice, if you find a shaker, hold on to her. One Shaker I was with looked like she was having a seizure during her big moments. She loses total control of her body starting with her legs and her whole body trembles. I love watching the shakes with a broad grin on my face. Did she come? Heck yeah! Shakers can never be fakers. Faking a shake will make any woman look simply ridiculous.

I love the bedsheets changers as much as the shakers. Bedsheet changers are very rare and I have only encountered two. I know one who did not and the jury is still out on the others.

The Hand Shaker

Her rainforest pretty much clenches up when she is coming. Her rainforest always gave my baby-maker a very firm congratulatory handshake as a result of the clenching during orgasm. He complained that he had been subjected to “relentless character assassination” during a two-year investigation into the “false” claims.

He said the Pope had granted him a leave of absence to fight the charges.

The charges relate to alleged “historical” incidents, police in the state of Victoria said.

The allegations were made by a number of people, said Police Deputy Commissioner Shane Patton.

Cardinal Pell, 76, who is based in the Vatican, is considered the third-ranking official in the Holy See.

He told a news conference at the Holy See that he would travel to Australia if his doctors permitted it.

“I’m looking forward finally to having my day in court,” he said.

“I am innocent of these charges, they are false. The whole idea of sexual abuse is abhorrent to me.”

The Catholic Church worldwide has in recent years faced a damaging series of allegations relating to sex abuse by priests, and claims that these cases were covered up.

The BBC’s James Reynolds says the charges leave the Church – and the Pope – in an uncomfortable position.

After his election in 2013, Pope Francis created a commission to deal with allegations of sexual abuse by clerics. Now he finds that one of his closest advisers faces charges of his own.

In a statement following the announcement of the charges, the Vatican said: “The Holy See expresses its respect for the Australian justice system that will have to decide the merits of the questions raised.

“At the same time, it is important to recall that Cardinal Pell has openly and repeatedly condemned as immoral and intolerable the acts of abuse committed against minors; has co-operated in the past with Australian authorities… has supported the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors; and finally, as a diocesan bishop in Australia, has introduced systems and procedures both for the protection of minors and to provide assistance to victims of abuse.”

What are the charges?

Victoria Police said they had made the decision to charge Cardinal Pell after receiving advice from prosecutors last month.

“Cardinal Pell is facing multiple charges and there are multiple complainants,” Deputy Commissioner Patton said.

The cardinal would be required to face the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 18 July, Deputy Commissioner Patton said.

A magistrate will decide next week whether to release the details and the nature of the charges ahead of the cardinal’s court appearance.

Cardinal Pell was questioned by Australian detectives in the Vatican last year after saying he was too unwell to take a long flight to Australia.

Who is Cardinal Pell?

Cardinal Pell has been a strong supporter of traditional Catholic values, taking a conservative stance on same-sex marriage and contraception, and advocating priestly celibacy.

But his career has been dogged first by claims that he covered up child sexual abuse by priests, and then later that he was himself an abuser. He has always strongly denied any wrongdoing.

In 2014, Cardinal Pell was summoned to Rome to become chief of the Vatican’s finances, a new position created by Pope Francis in the wake of scandals at the Vatican Bank.

But he left behind growing anger over revelations of child sex abuse by members of the Catholic clergy in Australia.

Cardinal Pell repeatedly faced allegations from abuse victims of a cover-up and his critics accused him of appearing aloof and arrogant.

In 2016 the Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) aired allegations by two men who claimed Cardinal Pell had touched them inappropriately in the 1970s.

He strongly denied the allegations, describing them as a “scandalous smear campaign”.

Ivor Gifford, of Abertillery, South Wales, faces jail after learning how to use internet chatrooms to meet young girls for sex.

He was trapped by The Hunted One, a group aiming to catch child groomers by creating fake social network profiles.

Gifford told police after his arrest: ‘I hope I die before this is out. I know how my family will react.’

A court heard Gifford began talking to what he thought were two girls named Jessie and Jodie, aged 11 and 12.

Within just half an hour he began talking about sex and tried to meet Jessie, telling her to ‘wear something sexy’.

Newport Crown Court heard that over several weeks, he sexually groomed her and sent over explicit photographs of himself. But unbeknown to Gifford, he was actually speaking to members of The Hunted One.

He was confronted by the group when he arrived to meet the fictional girl at Llanhilleth train station near Abertillery.

It was filmed and the court was shown him arriving at the railway station in a taxi when he is called over by the hunters.

One of them can be heard saying to Gifford: ‘You’re 81 years older than this child. We catch a load of guys – you’re the oldest, it’s unbelievable. When we found out your age, we were shocked.’

The video clip ends with police arriving and leading Gifford into their car.

Prosecutor Owen Williams said: ‘He was persistent in his attempts. In over 100 pages of messages, you will see that the vast majority refer to a sexual act.

‘Mr Gifford graphically describes sexual acts. He sent images of himself naked.’

Mr Williams told how The Hunted One create the phoney profiles but never begin conversations themselves and instead wait for others to speak to them first.

The court heard group members Daniel Cook and Andy Bradstoc ‘set up in 2015 with the aim of raising awareness of online grooming, exposing those who engage in such behaviour, and reporting them to the police’.

Mr Williams said: ‘They placed profiles of “children” on various chat websites. Though a photograph and a name is given, the child does not exist. These are fake profiles.’

Mr Williams said they do not instigate conversations, but reply with a message mentioning the child’s age when someone gets in touch.

He said: ‘They do not instigate conversations of a sexual nature but wait for the “contacter” to do that.

‘He then went a stage further, having groomed online he made arrangements to meet her,’ said Mr Williams.

‘Directing a child, who doesn’t know how to get from Cardiff to Abertillery, how to get a bus then a train.’

Mr Williams said the purpose was to ‘potentially sexually abuse or exploit’ a child for sex.

Gifford denied two charges of attempting to incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.

The former RAF man began to use the internet two years ago to find a housekeeper after his wife, 68, died died in 2014.

He said he was ‘lonely’ and learned to use the chat sites to meet people to talk to.

He said that he believed the girls to be much older – but a jury rejected that and found him guilty. Gifford was remanded in custody and will be sentenced on June 2.

After the case, Detective Superintendent Leanne Brustad, head of public protection for Gwent Police, warned about the dangers of vigilantism.

She said: ‘Revealing the identity of suspected paedophiles gives the suspect the opportunity to destroy evidence before the police can investigate them.

‘It also leads to people who have been identified going missing or raising concerns for their safety.

‘This can divert significant resources into protecting suspects, which would be better invested in investigating and, where there is evidence, prosecuting them.’

An NSPCC spokesman said: ‘Although the children Gifford was arranging to meet were not real, the danger he poses to young children is.

‘He set out to groom girls with the intention of sexually abusing them. This kind of predatory behaviour can ruin childhoods with the devastating effects lasting into adulthood.

‘We believe that identifying offenders and investigating crimes like these is best left to the police.

‘When members of the public take the law into their own hands it can run the risk of driving offenders underground, jeopardise on-going and complex police work or result in innocent people being harassed – all of which may put more children at risk of harm.’

Sometimes, when you are in a state of euphoria, you can say some pretty weird things. I was making out with a girl once and when she took off her top, my passion intoxicated brain managed to get my mouth to blurt out, “Wow! I really love your oranges! I am going to shake your tree.” What the french?! Needless to say, she gave me the silent but puzzled side look. Oh well, stuff happens. Calling out a different person’s name during sex, however, is unconscionable.

I had been dating Becky for about a month when this incident occurred. I had broken up with my ex-girlfriend about three months prior. Becky and I met at a charity event and we started hanging out as friends. Very quickly, our relationship progressed to something more as we discovered common and similar interests in the Arts, world history, culture, and travel. From the beginning, I wanted to keep things casual as we both recently left other relationships. Becky reluctantly agreed but in hindsight, she was against the idea.

The first time we had sex was at her apartment. It was a hurried session as her roommate came home unexpectedly. The second time we had sex was at my bachelor’s pad where we were guaranteed no interruptions. After she took off her top, it dawned on me that I was seeing her double lattes for the first time. The whole room stopped and everything fell silent. She curled up beside me and faced away. One glance at her mortified look was all it took for me to realize that I had committed the ultimate taboo.

“Who the heck is Alice?” She demanded to know

It was the most embarrassed and hopeless I’ve ever been. I had to confront the situation immediately even though I knew she will still be pissed no matter what I say.  I worked up the courage, turned her around and started to apologize profusely.

“Why are you apologizing?” She snapped back at me. “Explain yourself.”

“Alice is my ex-girlfriend.” I managed to say. “I have no clue how her name slipped out.”

“Obviously you have unresolved feelings for her because she is on your mind as you are having sex with me.” She responded.

I started reflecting on the incident immediately and I still could not determine where this horrendous mistake came from exactly. I swore I had not been thinking about Alice during sex. I was totally focused on Becky’s lattes when I blurted out Alice’s name. I believe that my mouth just uttered the name it was used to saying.

I guess I had gotten used to the sexual thrills and feelings of closeness associated with Alice in the twelve months we were together. I associated her name with the same state I was in with Becky. I could not find a simpler or more reasonable explanation.

As I drove Becky back home, I kept explaining and pleading my case. She looked out the window and said nothing. As we got close to her apartment, her demeanor changed. She asked if I was still in love with Alice and if I wanted her back. I told her I was not and I had moved on. She told me she really liked me and will forgive me but she was not going to forget. “Fair enough!” I said.

After that night, we literally never talked about the incident again. I did not get away scot-free; Oh No! She made sure to hit me with the same pain and aggravation I had caused her. She starved me for a whole month as punishment.

In retrospect, I doubt if I would have made the mistake if I was completely over Alice. After the break-up she did cross my mind frequently, I must admit. Even though I did not want her back, I checked her Facebook and Instagram every now and then just to keep tabs on her.

I guess the moral of my story is, if you have not moved on completely after a breakup and someone is still on your mind, maybe you are not ready to be frolicking around with someone else. Now, in my steamy moments, I filter every single word I say and I have refrained from using actual names. “Baby” and “Honey” works just fine when I am in the zone.

The Central Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Baffour Appenteng, said Olarndo Matrevi, employed with Coastal TV in Cape Coast, blackmailed the women and threatened to publish their pictures on the internet if they don’t have sex with him.

Supt Appenteng explained that, the suspect’s “modus operandi is to lure girls and when he gets you, through either Facebook or WhatsApp, pretends that he is interacting with you from overseas then he will lure you to send nude pictures. As soon as he gets the new pictures, he will now show up his face and say that if don’t allow me to do this, I will go viral and this is what he has been doing.”

He revealed that, two victims had come forward to file reports about Olarndo Matrevi’s blackmail attempts.

“They came and made the report and we have arrested him. We have his IPad where the nude pictures of the girls are kept. We are just praying that maybe he has not sent it as he intended,” Supt Appenteng said to the media.

The suspect is set to be arraigned today [Monday].

Lucas Agboyie, alias “Sympathy”, told the court that he strangled his victim after she had refused his advances and even begged him not to have sex with her.

“I then took her to my room and slept with the body repeatedly,’’ Lucas said, to the shock of the audience in the packed courtroom.

Confession

Agboyie, who wore a blue T-shirt over a pair of blue jeans and was clean shaven and energetic looking, threw his arms wildly about as he described events that led to the little girl’s death.

According to him, on the day of the incident, he had smoked marijuana, right after which he saw the girl passing by his house.

“It was a Sunday morning and after taking ‘ganja’, I saw the girl passing. I called her and sent her to go and bring me my towel that had been hung behind my house. On her return, I told her that I wanted to sleep with her but she refused.

“I held her hand and she began struggling with me. She begged and told me to let her go and started screaming. So I strangled her.

“I then took her to my room and slept with the body. Afterwards, I took the GH¢20 she had in her possession and used it to buy ‘ganja’,” he said.

Shock, disbelief and tears

The victim’s mother, who was in court, could not hold back her tears as Agboyie made the confession.

She had to be consoled by her family members who had accompanied her to the court.

As the confession was unfolding, others could be seen shaking their heads and shedding tears.

Charge and delay from A-G

Agboyie has been charged with murder and is currently going through committal proceedings at the magistrate court, a prelude to the actual trial at the High Court.

Meanwhile, the court, presided over by Mr Worlanyo Kotoku, has chastised the Attorney-General’s (A-G’s) Department for the undue delay in giving advice on the docket of the case.

According to him, the incident took place on April 19, 2015; Agboyie was arraigned on April 23, 2015, while the docket had been sent to the A-G’s Department for advice in June 2015.

“I don’t know why the case is still delaying. The accused person’s story has been consistent since the first day he was brought to court. These are committal proceedings and not the actual trial,” he said.

The prosecutor in the case was absent and so the magistrate tasked the investigator to follow up at the A-G’s Department to help expedite the release of the docket for the continuation of the committal proceedings.

A lawyer in the courtroom who was touched by the victim’s mother’s wailings volunteered to follow up to the A-G’s Department.

The case has been adjourned to October 4, 2016.

Facts

The facts of the case, as presented by the prosecution, were that on April 19, 2015, the seven-year-old girl was sent by her mother with a GH¢20 note to buy bread.

After waiting for a long time without their daughter returning home, her parents became alarmed and sought the help of neighbours to search for her.

“Later, an informant alerted the search party that he had seen Agboyie pulling the girl into his metal container. When the search party went to the metal container, Agboyie was nowhere to be found.

“To their utmost surprise, they found the naked body of the girl lying supine on an old students’ mattress, with blood oozing from her mouth and nostrils,’’ the prosecutor said.

He added that Agboyie was later apprehended and “he confessed to killing the girl, after which he had sex with her’’.

Alleged accomplice

According to the prosecution, the search party believed that the girl had been killed for ritual purposes and demanded that Agboyie mention the name of the one who had hired him to commit the crime.

“He insisted that he had killed the girl on his own volition. Dissatisfied, the residents started beating him and threatened to hand him over to an angry mob to lynch him,’’ the prosecutor said.

He said Agboyie thereafter mentioned a man named Baba Ali as the one who had sent him to commit the act, after which he was handed over to the police.

“When the police confronted him on the identity of his accomplice, Agboyie retracted his earlier statement and said he had acted alone.

‘’He said he had mentioned the name because of the beatings he received from the crowd and fear for his life,’’ the prosecutor said.
