The woman dialed 911 to report the sexual assault had occurred when the bus was parked at a shopping center in Auburn, which is less than 20 miles (32 km) south of Seattle, local police said in a statement.

Nelly, best-known for the hit songs “Ride Wit Me,” “Hot in Herre” and “Dilemma,” performed at an amphitheater in Auburn on Friday night as part of a tour with country pop group Florida Georgia Line.

Patrol officers investigated the woman’s report, and Nelly was arrested before dawn, Auburn police said in the statement.

He was booked into the South Correctional Entity Regional Jail in Des Moines, Washington, on suspicion of sexual assault.

Auburn police had no further details to release, the statement said.

Nelly’s representatives did not immediately return emails seeking comment.

“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation,” an unnamed representative for him said in a statement to People magazine.

Nelly, who was born Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. and grew up in the St. Louis area, made his debut in 2000 with the album “Country Grammar,” which sold more than 10 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Prior to the big game against the USA, Abdul Majeed Waris looked uncertain as he suffered thigh injury during Ghana’s recent friendly game with the South Koreans.

Kevin Prince Boateng on the other hand, had sat out of the team’s first training session at the Estadio Rei Pele as it was unclear whether he was also nursing an injury.

But, both players participated in the full training session of the team to give coach Kwesi Appiah a full complement of his team ahead of Ghana’s G opener against the United States of America on Monday.

The 23-year-old was named in Spain’s provisional squad on Mondaybut will require surgery after tearing a knee ligament this week.

“This is bitter for Thiago and I feel sorry for him,” said Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Holders Spain are in Group B along with Netherlands, Chile and Australia.

It is the latest setback for Thiago, who has missed the latter part of the season with injury. He will also miss the German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

Rummenigge said: “A young man who wanted to come back at the World Cup, and suddenly his dreams are burst.

“We will take care of him now and make sure he is fit at the start of the season.”

Thiago has won five caps for Spain and scored a hat-trick last summer as the Under-21s beat Italy to win the European Championship.

“I have thought long and hard over the last few months about my future and, after 12 fantastic years playing for what I regard as the best club in the world, I have decided the time is right for me to move on,” Ferdinand said on his website.

British media reported that the 35-year-old Ferdinand, who played 454 times for United and scored eight goals, was not offered a new contract by the Old Trafford club.

He won six Premier League trophies, two League Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup after joining from Leeds United for 29.1 million pounds ($49.1 million) in 2002 to become the most expensive player in English football.

“I joined Manchester United in the hope of winning trophies, and never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how successful we would be during my time here,” Ferdinand said.

“There have been so many highlights, playing alongside some great players who have become good friends, winning my first league title and also that fantastic night in Moscow (winning the Champions League) are memories that I will cherish forever.

“Circumstances didn’t allow for me to say goodbye the way I would have liked but I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my team mates, staff, the club and the fans for an unbelievable 12 years that I’ll never forget. Winning trophies I dreamed about as a kid came true at this great club.”

Ferdinand has not decided whether he will continue playing.
