Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah was one of the Christian leaders who prophesied that then candidate Nana-Addo was going to emerge victorious in the keenly contested elections.

Speaking at the Head quarters of the Glorious Word Power Ministries at Odorkor, President Akufo Addo said he contested the 2016 elections against powers and principalities, but was quick to add that Prophet Owusu Bempah’s spiritual intervention ensured his victory.

“I am to happy to be here. I should have been here earlier, but God ordained it for me to come at this time. You should know it was God who made me come here at this time as the President of Ghana…  It is important that we fervently pray for the change we are desiring. I know one of the religious leaders who will champion this cause of change is Rev Owusu Bempah.”

I fought against powers and principalities

President Akufo-Addo stated that, he fought  against powers and principalities to emerge victorious in the 2016 elections. According to him, in spite of the enormous spiritual battles against his bid, he always knew that the battle was the Lord’s.

” We went to the polls about three months ago.We fought against powers and principalities, but in all of this, I had the firm belief that the battle was the Lord’s.”

He visited the church to thank the prophet and urge him to continue praying for him and his Ministers to succeed.

Owusu Bempah’s role

Nana Addo lost the 2008 elections to the late John Evans Atta Mills, and also lost in 2012 to President John Dramani Mahama.

However after this development, the Prophet told host of TV show- Restoration, Stacy Amoateng in 2015, that Ghanaians will give Nana Addo an opportunity to lead the country for the first time, though there might be some challenges.

A number of renowned gospel artistes and preachers ministered during the service including; Diana Asamoah, Philipa Baafi, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Christina Love, Rev. Owusu Bempah and Josh Laryea.

Present at the service were Nana Addo’s running Running Mate and incoming Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia; his wife, Samira Bawumia; NPP’s acting Chairman, Freddy Blay, members of the presidential transition team led by Yaw Osafo Marfo and other prominent party personalities.

Speaking at the service, president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo condemned acts of violence allegedly being perpetrated by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following the party’s victory, and urged Ghanaians to forgive one another and exhibit kindness.

Leading a congregation of party supporters and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to thank God for their election victory at the Accra Sports Stadium today [Sunday], Rev. Owusu Bempah said :“God will give him[Nana Addo] wisdom as Solomon and strength like David to govern the country.”

He said those who were even doubtful the President- elect, Nana Addo will win the election and eventually become a successful President, will also benefit from his victory.

The  New Patriotic Party’s inter-denominational Christian Praise and Thanksgiving Service seeks to thank God for the party’s resounding victory in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections.

This follows the Muslim thanksgiving prayers led by Chief Imam, Nuhu Sharubutu at the Central Mosque at Abbosey Okai on Friday.

Citi News’ Caleb Kudah, who visited the Police Headquarters to follow up on the development, reported that some pastors and congregants from Hope Ministries International [Owusu Bempah’s church] had “amassed at the main entrance of the CID Headquarters waiting patiently to know the outcome of the interrogation.”

According to Caleb, “Prophet Joshua Eric Amponsah also known as Computer man was also there to show solidarity.”

What did Bempah say?

Owusu Bempah stated that some Ghanaian politicians are scheming to kill the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, before the December 7 general elections.

He said the assassins are plotting to carry out the operation during one of Nana Addo’s campaign tours.

The popular preacher failed to mention names of the suspects but said they would shoot him at a rally.

Rev Bempah made the allegation during an interaction with journalists.

“God has revealed to me that some politicians in a certain political party in Ghana are conspiring with some members of the NPP to shoot Nana dead at a campaign tour. The NPP should not take this as a joke but rather provide tight security around the man,” he said.

Was Bempah wrong?

Speaking in an interview with Citi News’ Caleb, Prophet Joshua said he did not find anything wrong with what Bempah said.

“If the Holy Spirit pushes you to say something there is nothing that can hinder you from saying the truth. I cannot say whether he was right or not. This is purely spiritual so I do not see anything wrong with it.”

Bempah’s other prophecy on Nana Addo

This is not the first time Owusu Bempah has prophesied about Nana Addo ahead of the polls.

In 2015, he stated that Nana Addo will win the 2016 elections.

“Nana Akufo Addo will win the elections, everyone should take note of it but there will be a controversy and that will bring the challenges.People should take note of the date that I made this revelation …Whoever can enter the spiritual realm should do so and verify if what I am saying is the truth.”
