Public tickets for the Manchester benefit concert have sold out within 20 minutes of going on general sale.

But some tickets have been reserved for fans who attended last Monday’s Ariana Grande show who have not yet been able to claim free places.

Those fans will now be able to register for tickets to One Love Manchester until 14:00 BST on Thursday.

Ticketmaster said: “We would like to reassure any fans who were at the show that they will receive a free ticket.”

Ticket buyers who were at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena on 22 May have been asked to provide their original booking details in order to register.

Some tickets for the benefit concert have appeared on eBay – but the company has told the BBC it is attempting to remove listings as soon as they appear.

One Love Manchester takes place on Sunday, with proceeds going to the Red Cross’s Manchester Emergency Fund.

Ticketmaster said their website experienced “remarkable demand” when tickets went on sale at 10:00 BST on Thursday.

Last Monday, 22 people died and 116 were injured in a suicide bombing after Grande’s concert at the city’s arena.

The ticket company said it was aware of some fans who were at that show who had not yet been able to claim their places for this Sunday’s event.

In a statement, Ticketmaster said: “We understand that there are a number of fans who didn’t receive an email this morning with regards to free tickets for One Love Manchester.

“We worked through the night and verified thousands of original bookings although there were some we could not verify.

“We want to give all fans who were at the show, regardless of where they bought their tickets, every opportunity to register for One Love Manchester, so we have opened up the registration again today, until 2pm.”

Police say they are investigating a “network” over Monday night’s attack at Manchester Arena, in which 22 people were killed.

An off-duty policewoman was confirmed by police to be among the victims.

Salman Abedi blew himself up outside an Ariana Grande concert. Four people have been arrested, including the bomber’s 23-year-old brother.

The UK terror threat level is now up to its highest level of “critical”, meaning more attacks may be imminent.

Military personnel are being deployed to protect key sites.

The Palace of Westminster has been closed to the public following police advice, and will not re-open until further notice, its website said.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd said: “[Monday’s attack] was more sophisticated than some of the attacks we’ve seen before, and it seems likely – possible – that he wasn’t doing this on his own.”

BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner said that the bomber is thought to have been a “mule”, using a device built by someone else.

Four people have been arrested since Monday night, including Abedi’s older brother Ismael who was detained in Chorlton, south Manchester, on Tuesday.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “I think it’s very clear that this is a network that we are investigating.

“And as I’ve said, it continues at a pace. There’s extensive investigations going on and activity taking place across Greater Manchester, as we speak,” he told reporters on Wednesday afternoon.

Police also raided a block of flats near Manchester Piccadilly station in the city centre, requiring them to carry out a controlled explosion and briefly close the railway line.

Salman Abedi has been named by police as the suspected suicide bomber who killed 22 people and injured 59 at Manchester Arena on Monday night.

The 22-year-old was Manchester born and from a family of Libyan origin, the BBC understands.

So far three victims have been named – Saffie Rose Roussos, eight, Georgina Callander and John Atkinson, 28.

Greater Manchester Police said the priority was to establish whether Abedi had worked alone or not.

A vigil is being held in front of the town hall in Manchester’s Albert Square.

Abedi is thought to have blown himself up in the arena’s foyer shortly after 22:30 BST on Monday, as fans were beginning to leave a concert by US singer Ariana Grande.

Greater Manchester Police Chief Constable Ian Hopkins passed on “heartfelt sympathies to all the innocent people caught up in last night’s despicable act”, adding that specially-trained family liaison officers were supporting families.

John Atkinson

Eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos was a pupil at Tarleton Primary School, in Lancashire.

Her head teacher, Chris Upton, said she had been “simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word” and was “loved by everyone”.

John Atkinson was from Bury in Greater Manchester.

Student Georgina Callander, believed to have been 18, has also been named as among the dead.

She had been studying health and social care at Runshaw College in Leyland, Lancashire.

The wounded are being treated at eight hospitals around the city, with 12 children under the age of 16 among them.

Several people are still missing, including teenagers Laura MacIntyre and Eilidh MacLeod, from Barra in the Outer Hebrides, 15-year-old Olivia Campbell, Chloe Rutherford, 17, and Liam Curry, 19.

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said police were in contact with Laura and Eilidh’s families, adding: “It is hard for any of us to imagine the anguish that their families are going through right now.

“They are in our thoughts.”

In a statement in Downing Street on Tuesday, the prime minister said the bombing had been a “callous terrorist attack” that targeted “defenceless young people”.

Number 10 later said Mrs May – who is now in Manchester – had been updated “through [Monday] night” and had phoned Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn at 04:00 BST to brief him.

It is the worst terrorist attack in the UK since the 7 July bombings in 2005, in which 52 people were killed by four suicide bombers

So-called Islamic State has said – via IS channels on the messaging app Telegram – it was behind the Manchester attack, but this has not been verified.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has condemned as despicable and cowardly the acts of persons behind the bombing in Manchester, UK, in the early hours of Monday.

“Shocked and saddened by yesterday’s terror attack in Manchester, resulting in the deaths of 22 people and injuries to 59. I condemn these despicable and cowardly acts, and extend my deepest condolences to the affected families,” President Akufo-Addo said in a series of tweets on Monday morning.

Monday’s attack outside an Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena killed at least 22 people, including children, according to Manchester Police.

A lone suicide bomber set off a homemade bomb and police have subsequently arrested a 23-year-old man in Chorlton, south Manchester, in connection with the attack. Some of the victims have started being identified.

The UK prime minister, Theresa May, in a statement, said it was “now beyond doubt that the people of Manchester and of this country have fallen victim to a callous terrorist attack” that targeted “defenceless young people”.

She noted that the security services believe they know the attacker’s identity but are not yet able to confirm it.

The Queen also expressed her condolences to all those affected, adding that “the whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury”.

This bombing marks the worst terrorist attack in the UK since the July 7 tube bombings in 2005 in which 52 people were killed.
