The police, in a statement said the perpetrators normally struck halfway through a journey on the pretense of courtesy.

“The Police has observed that victims of this trend hired by a member of the syndicate at good offers, and sedated halfway through the journey after being offered water or an energy drink. The targeted driver is then hauled from the car and the vehicle driven away.”

The police has therefore advised commercial drivers to be “extra vigilant”, and avoid accepting consumables from strangers and passengers.”

According to the captain of the Surfline team, they “are not coming there with anything less than what you expect. Expect something LTE, expect somethimg competitive. We are not going to give the other teams any chance to make noise. We are Surfline – it’s about time – and we are taking all the trophies to Emerald House.”

On the part of Holiday Inn Hotel, they have promised to reclaim all the trophies they lost last year.

According to their captain, “Holiday Inn is ready. Holiday Inn has been the champion for the tug-of-war for the past few year. We lost out last year because we couldn’t participate but we are winning everything this year.”

Other companies have shared stories of how they’ve been camping for the past few weeks to prepare for the big day.

The Citi Business Olympics, the biggest gathering of businesses and professionals, brings together thousands of people yearly to compete in various sporting disciplines and network as well.

Companies would compete for trophies and the ultimate bragging rights at the plush Burma Camp Leisure Center from 8am to 4pm on Saturday September 20.

The defending champions are keen on keeping their trophies and bragging rights while the other companies are mapping out strategies to cause upsets by beating previous winners in the various disciplines.
