A video recently posted on social media appears to show two adults distracting a shopkeeper while one of their children sneaks away to ‘steal’ two mobile phones.
The jaw dropping footage appears to show two women engaging the shop assistants in conversation while one of their kids moves quietly away from the group.
Another camera angle shows the child running between some sets of shelves before she appears to pocket two electrical devices, which look like state of the art smartphones.
The child then subtly rejoins the group and appears to pull at the dress of one of the women to get her attention.
As the child returns, the woman abruptly ends her conversation with the shopkeeper, turns, and walks out of the shop, prompting the rest of the family to follow.
According to the clip, uploaded to LiveLeak.com by bigEcod, the incident is thought to have happened at a shop in Nigeria.
It is not clear whether any action was taken by the shop or if anyone was arrested.
The thirty second video was published on March 12, and has racked up over 42,000 views.
