One of the persons standing trial in the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) case, Joseph Akpeena Assibit, might soon find himself at the Nsawam Prison.

This is because; he has not been able to produce documents to justify the sureties for his bail.

Mr. Asibit who is the Chief Executive Officer of Goodwill International has been in detention since his last appearance in court.

Speaking on the Citi Prime News, the lawyer for Mr. Asibit, Joseph Kpenka confirmed the development saying, “this morning, we had signals from the Police that if by the end of the day we are not able to bring all the documentation in respect of his surety that were actually required by the court, then he has to be transferred to Nsawam until we have all the documentation ready.”

He however stated that the deadline may not be met as the persons who are to  produce the documents can only do so in the next 48 hours to aid Mr. Asibit’s bail.

Mr. Kpenka revealed that all the four sureties requested have been provided “but it’s one of them that we are cross-checking the documentation to be sure that everything is in compliance with legalities.”

Mr. Asibit is currently in Police custody at the Ministries Police Station and is standing trail together with Abuga Pele, former national coordinator of GYEEDA for financial misappropriation.
