The Upper East Regional leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is threatening a massive demonstration over what they say is neglect of the three Northern Regions by the Mahama administration.

[contextly_sidebar id=”4fKPnGzy81GmNQdy0curfYo6hmJuaHnp”]They bemoan what they describe as seeming neglect by the Mahama administration and thus their resolve to embark on the demonstration press home their demand.

Addressing a news conference in Bolgatanga, Regional Youth Organizer Ibrahim Bashiru announced the resolve of indigenes of the three northern Regions to demand their fair share of the national cake.

“Indeed the people of the north are suffering and our suffering continues as the days go by,” he lamented.

Ibrahim Bashiru indicated that “the three north regions are united against being abused by politicians who don’t mean well for us.  We intend to organize series of demonstrations across the country to highlight the problems of our region and it is important to make the point that in the coming days the people of upper east region will have no option than to pour on the streets to press home our demand because we are suffering and indeed the suffering is just unbearable.”

The leadership of the NPP, in Febraury staged a demonstration exercise in Accra to protest what they say is the power situation and its debilitating effect on the economic.

A similar exercise was replicated in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi organised by the Movement of Change, a pressure group affiliated to the NPP.
