The former Energy Minister, Dr Joe Oteng Adjei has reportedly been appointed as the board chairman of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

[contextly_sidebar id=”VTwp2iDrc8TK1ycgzBL0yI6jLskwW3pg”]He was appointed the Minister for Energy in 2009 and reassigned to the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology in 2013.

The former Minister has recently come under public criticism for using monies meant for rural electrification project to buy luxurious vehicles.

He has also been accused of keeping one of the vehicles years after he was reassigned to the Ministry of Environment.

Dr Adjei has however returned the luxurious vehicles explaining that he kept it because of  an agreement between his ministry and the Energy Ministry.

Reports  indicates that his appointment on the board has already been confirmed.
