MTN GH All-Star Live, Ghana Music Week Festival’s flagship concert came off last Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Though turn-out was not impressive considering the big names on the bill, fans, especially, those who filled the VIP area of the set-up, were very much thrilled by performances of their legends.

Aside the big names- Kojo Antwi and Daddy Lumba- MTN GH All-Star Live saw thrilling performances by Samini, Kaakie, Guru, Rashid Metal, Jupitar, Episode, Obaapa Christie, Noble Nketsiah, Skinny Legend among others.

Amakye Dede and Nigeria’s Pato Ranking could not perform due to technical reasons, even though they were all present at the Stadium.

Speaking on challenges; Verus Nartey, a member of the Planning Committee explained: “We admit that the Accra Sports Stadium wasn’t the best venue for the kind of people we were targeting. In all, about 5,500 people came to the show. We targeted 15,000 people as per the portion of the stadium used for the event. Because of the low turn-out, production people delayed the event thereby making it impossible for two key artistes to get to perform.”

Aside that, he continued…” our key goal of creating a platform to bring together and encourage participation of key industry players; and to recognize, promote and underscore the importance and value of Ghanaian music forms, was, to a large extent, achieved.”
