Kotoko were lucky to get a draw after Richard Mpong saved them from certain defeat against Chelsea.

The First Capital Plus Premier League match with Berekum Chelsea on Sunday came on the back of some poor showings by the league leaders.

Kotoko had lost two straight games before kickoff, but the win slightly puts the Reds on top of the pile as fierce rivals Hearts contrived to lose against Liberty.

Kotoko are thus nine points clear.

In Dansoman, Liberty overpowered Hearts of Oak 3-1.

Michael Appiah, Tuffour Frimpong and Anthony Nimoh made sure of the win for Liberty, with Ollenu Ashitey getting Hearts’ goal.

At the Essipon Stadium, Hasaacas finished off ten-man Wa All Stars 3-0 with goals from Alex Arhinful, Roger Lamptey and Frederick Quayson.

Heart of Lions got their hopes of making the CAF Champions League renewed after defeating Edubiase 1-0, with the goal from Mohammed Razir.

Kotoko are certain to make another Champions League berth, but it is now up to Hearts (38), Hearts of Lions (37) and possibly Hasaacas (35) to slug it out.
