The Northern Regional Police Command is unhappy about the intrusion of some chiefs and politicians in their operations.

[contextly_sidebar id=”3gMJReGj7pHcq7Qc267XRyKgIOSA1iA9″]Regardless of the gravity of the crime, some chiefs in the region are known for interfering in the operations of law enforcement agencies particularly the police service.

This is encouraging some disobedient persons in the Tamale Metro Area to flout the law with impunity and escape prosecution.

It is against this backdrop, DCOP Ken Yeboah lamented, “the chiefs, they should be able to differentiate between criminal activities and then traditional or whatever: some chiefs take delight in investigating criminal activities including murder and defilement and they do not allow the police to investigate.”

“People do not even want to come to the police they prefer going to the chiefs because as soon as they come to the police the chiefs will fine them: is serious and this is making our work difficult.”
