The region has been divided into an imaginary north and south where the two ministers are expected to lead a delegation to tour each of the splits concurrently.

Speaking to Citi News the Deputy Minister said their relocation was equally necessary since Volta region is to host this month’s National Sanitation Day.

“We shall be operating in the region for a whole week; we set up an office at regional coordinating council.’forms part of efforts to demonstrate that we actually decentralized as well as revamp the communal spirit among the people.”

The Minister underscored the need to keep the environments clean by properly disposing waste. He bemoaned the situation where poor waste management by the citizens have seen Ghana ranked as one the world’s filthy countries.

For the past five months the Ministry introduced a concept where it has been operating in regions as part of efforts to bring governance to the door steps of the people.

The Volta region is the fourth to be visited and they expected to operate in the region for a week.
