Over 100 men and women who turned up at various Police training institutions on Saturday for recruitment later found out they had been duped by fraudsters.

[contextly_sidebar id=”wpfQWb91KuucZoT3YZjIdqUvtyHW7aUq”]”Any such information of reporting for training today is definitely the work of fraudsters,” a statement from Superintendent Cephas Arthur, Police Public Relations Officer said.

The statement advised the victims to return to their various homes and also encouraged them to “report the matter at the nearest Police station or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters.”

The Police said it is not currently embarking on any recruitment exercise and that when the appropriate time is due, there will communication in the media.

The last time the Police service did any of such recruitment was in 2012 and that process was halted and completed in 2014.

Scores of people have fallen prey to fraudsters who claimed they were recruiting for various security agencies including the military, the navy and the Police service.

Superintendent Cephas Arthur said they have begun investigations to smoke out the fraudsters who duped the hundreds who turned up at the various training stations for recruitment on Saturday.

Some of these fraudsters in the past have been arrested and prosecuted.
