The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) “Yabrɛ” demonstration is currently underway in the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi.
The protest, which is supposed to be a replica of the “Wɔn Gbo” demonstration held in Accra is being organised by the Movement for Change, a pressure group affiliated to the NPP.
The organisers say the protest is to draw government’s attention to the worsening economic conditions and the power crisis that have plagued the nation in recent times.
Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Samuel Payne in an earlier interview with Citi News noted that they will begin the demonstration at the State boys’ park near the Suame roundabout and go through the Bantima High street and Kejetia as well as other principal streets in the region and later end at the Jubilee Park.
