The Opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) has threatened to organise more demonstrations until government devises measures to address the worsening energy crisis.

“We have served notice that we will continue to demonstrate until government addresses this issue completely,” the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Anthony Karbo told Eyewitness News Host,  Richard Dela Sky.

The party’s demonstration was geared towards protesting the worsening energy crisis in the country.

The protest saw thousands of supporters clad in black and red with placards singing and drumming as they marched through some principal streets of Accra.

Giving more highlights on the demonstration on Eyewitness News, the General Secretary of the NPP, Anthony Karbo revealed that over 400, 000 people were present.

“We had initially estimated that we are looking up to close to 400,00 people but to our amazement we infact recorded even higher numbers… Lining up down to COCOBOD it was very clear; on the stretch of about 12 kilometers you could see huge numbers.”

He was hopeful that issues raised during the protest will certainly be highlighted by the government.

“We expect a lot to change and a lot always change after demonstrations like these. When the doctors went on demonstrations government addressed their concerns …so I am pretty sure we will see the fruits of our demonstration,” he remarked.

Karbo also commended the Police for ensuring that the protest was peaceful and devoid of violence.
