Nigerian Islamist Militant group, Boko Haram has carried out its first attack in neighbouring Chad.
[contextly_sidebar id=”cVleLwWTRNgimbCjbsCyGnuQlpbLH3nA”]The group is reported to have crossed Lake Chad on four motorboats and carried out the attack a village.
Several homes were burnt down and some persons injured but an intervention by Chadian troops saved the situation.
Colonel Azem Bermandoua Agouna, of the Chadian military is quoted by the BBC as saying; the militants killed one soldier and wounded a further four in the village of Ngouboua.
Two Boko Haram militants were also killed and five injured of them injured as well.
Chad in January 2015 formed a military alliance with Nigeria, Niger, and Cameroon with the aim of defeating Boko Haram.
Boko Haram since 2009 has killed thousands of people both in north-eastern Nigeria and until recently, in neighbouring Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
Millions have also been displaced by their activities.
