Portions of the Uadara military barracks near Komfo Anokye Hospital in the Ashanti region have been razed down by fire.
It is unclear the total number of properties lost to the fire as of now but reports indicate that the Ghana National Fire Service are working with other fire fighters to douse it.
About six rooms at the barracks are reportedly on fire.
The Ashanti region has recorded a number of fire outbreaks over the past few months.
In November, 2014, fire gutted portions of the Kumasi Central market, destroying properties worth thousands of ghana cedis.
