Pokello+and+Elikem+BBA8+in+GhanaConfirming the continental appeal and acceptance of the much talked about Africa Fashion Week (AFW), Pokello and Elikem, the Big Brother Africa The Chase stars have become ambassadors for the fashion show billed to hold between May 17 and 18, at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Africa Fashion Week Nigeria (AFWN), organized by the Founder of the Africa Fashion Week London seeks to provide visibility platforms for new talents and help them gather international attention and awareness.

It also hopes to give equal opportunities to emerging and top fashion designers as well as create a platform that will promote the African fashion and richness and make it embraced all over.

The two day event will have patrons like Chief Molade Okoya-Thomas, Hon. Abike Dabiri, Senator Daisy Danjuma and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, fashion lovers, celebrities, fabric manufacturers, printers, jewelers, models, make-up artistes, buyers, potential designers and business fashion people to grace the event.

This platform which celebrates and supports African creativity was held in London in 2011 and over 100 UK and non UK designers showcased their collections which was a huge success. The anticipated show would be wrapped-up with a gala fashion show and veteran fashion designer Hajia Abba Folawiyo will close the show.

According to Ronke Ademiluyi, the organiser and founder of AFW, “the event is to bind emerging talents in the fashion industry, connect them to the right people, showcase them to their customers and potential ones, unleash the creativity in them, support them, give them an opportunity and platform to grow and create awareness.”
