Finalists and judges announced for Airtel Trace Music Stars finals

Five exceptionally talented amateur singers, with no previous stage experience, have been named finalists in the Airtel Trace Star Music Competition.

[contextly_sidebar id=”ADNxflmGaG654dJNwd9uOUHbduzb1Cf9″]They will compete for top prizes of GHC 50,000 on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at the forecourt of the World Trade Center, Accra.

Three highly experienced and talented stalwarts of the music and entertainment industry in Ghana will serve as judges for the final phase of the competition.

Edem and Raquel both well-known and accomplished musicians and Kafui Dey ace television and radio personality will serve as the judges

Known as the largest mobile musical competition in Africa, Airtel TRACE Star competition is an opportunity to develop the African music industry by creating a platform for the exposure of African music and musicians to the rest of the world.

The competition recognizes talented young singers who are dramatically and musically convincing in a wide range of repertoire.

It is also an opportunity for Airtel to connect and communicate with their customers globally.

Airtel Ghana has partnered with TRACE TV because it is a globally recognized brand that gives the seal of recognition to many international artists.

This initiative is in line with Airtel’s commitment to unleash the potential amongst our youth to enable them achieve their dreams

Finalists were selected from thousands of entries made via phone calls through the short code 533.

The 2015 Airtel Trace Star Finalists include; Francis Tengey also known as DON, Cassandra Tettey also known as CAS, Linda Goraseh also known as LIN,  Princess Dartey also known as PBD and Angela Ackim also known as DZU. Voting is open to the public by texting nickname of contestant to short code 533. Airtel Trace star will award special prizes at the finals in addition to the top prizes.

The finalists will perform their entire programs for the judges on Saturday 14TH February.

The competition will culminate with the final announcement of the overall winner for Ghana.

The Ghanaian finalist will compete with the best singing talents of 11 other African countries for the run for the Title of best African Music Talent.

The overall grand prize comprises of a recording deal with Kon Live, a distributed label through Universal Music Group, and an intense mentorship programme with Akon in the United States of America.
