A group calling itself Concerned Ghanaians says it will embark on a demonstration on March 6, 2015 despite a Police directive asking them to postpone the protest.
The group, early on notified the Police of their plans to protest the erratic power supply but the Police denied their request, citing the independence day celebration as a major reason for their decision.

They have also issued a stern warning that they will not entertain any attempts to flout the directive on the said date.
It however appears, the group is insistent on embarking on the planned mass protest on the scheduled date.
Speaking on Eyewitness News, spokesperson for the group, Offei Goodfellow said: “barring any problems, we are hitting the streets”
He wondered why the Police was preventing them from holding their protest when they had given them a 30-day notice instead of the normal 5-day notice period required for holding demonstrations.
“We believe in the rule of law…so I am at a loss when the Police say that we want to take the law into our own hands,”Goodfellow added
He was optimistic the group had not breached the law by deciding to hold its elections on Independence day.
”I was even surprised when I saw the release from the Police that we are taking the law into our own hands and we are breaking the law…I don’t know which part of the law we are breaking..” he queried.
He indicated that the group can go ahead with its demonstration since it had met “every detail and component” of the Public Order Act that ought to be fulfilled before a demonstration.
“We believe that we are law abiding citizens… we think that we are doing the right thing and we have great respect for the Police.”
