President John Mahama has said he remains committed to his promise of ending the power crisis.

He was speaking at this year’s annual convention of the Saviour Church of Ghana at Osiem in the Eastern region.

Ghanaians have expressed frustration over the worsening power situation in the country.

President Mahama about a week ago announced a number of measures being put in place to mitigate the situation including ordering the Ministry of Power to fast track the provision of emergency power badges into the country.

Addressing the convention, President Mahama said “I know dumsor is a problem but I have also promised that government will do everything possible we can to get the country out of darkness.”

He indicated that “the plans we have for the nation are for the future and not just for today. We have signed agreement with a number of companies that will bring in 3,000 megawatts of power on board. When we add 3,000 megawatts of power to the existing 2,800 megawatts we will have enough for everything.”

For his part, the General Superintendent of Saviour Church of Ghana, Opanyin Abraham Adusei, and advised Christians to eschew vices that could plunge the nation into chaos.
