The semi-final clash between Equatorial Guinea and Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations was suspended for sometime due crowd disturbances.

Soccer lovers took to Twitter to express their frustrations at the ugly scenes that took place at the Stadium in Malabo.

This is how Ghana is getting off the pitch.Embarrasing and sad scenes from what has been a great AFCON pic.twitter.com/uRPGyXDDpB

Disgraceful behaviour by Equatorial Guinea supporters. Waiting to hear CAF has to say about this. Honestly — akwasi sarpong (@akwasisarpong) February 5, 2015

This will be all the over the news, tarnish what’s been a good tournament. Then we will complain we are wrongly portrayed by western media

This blatant indiscipline by fans in Equatorial Guinea unacceptable! It’s backward, embarrassing & a case of chronic lack of civilisation! — Richard Sky (@RichardDelaSky) February 5, 2015

What a waste of Equatorial Guinea’s investment in football facilities to host international football events!!

— akwasi sarpong (@akwasisarpong) February 5, 2015

GHANA FANS BEING BEATEN ON THE WEST WING! They’ve had to leave the stands while being pelted. — Gary Al-Smith (@garyalsmith) February 5, 2015

#EQGuinea saved the Africa Cup of Nations? Nonsense. They shouldn’t have bothered. What a disgrace. #AFCON2015

This reminds me of when there was a blackout in Kumasi a couple of years ago. I’m half expecting Koku Anyidoho to say ‘heads will roll’!

— Fui T. (@blackstarsfan) February 5, 2015

This is what I picked up off the pitch (mirror, broken plate, stone – one of 100s). Truly shameful. Why? #AFCON2015 pic.twitter.com/UUTSDNj0Tz

Man… I hate to admit it, but sometimes it’s difficult to defend “Africans”.

— #BelieveGhana (@_kwakutii) February 5, 2015

Sad part is I’m watching the game on an european channel. Rest of Europe must be thinking “see these animals…”

— #BelieveGhana (@_kwakutii) February 5, 2015

Huge respect to #Ghana players & fans. Kept their cool in horrendous conditions. Another reason they deserve to be in the final. #AFCON2015

— John Bennett (@JohnBennettBBC) February 5, 2015

Eq Guinea fans’ bottles stop #Ghana leaving the pitch. Riot police shield escort off. If u dish it out EG, u have to take it too. #AFCON2015

— Piers Edwards (@piers_e) February 5, 2015

Can’t believe it. What a disgrace. CAF

— Yvonne Nelson (@yvonnenelsongh) February 5, 2015

#EQG fans who had no hope for their team’s progression in Afcon 2015 have resorted to thuggery because of a semi final loss. Smh

— samuel fifi bartels (@sammybartels) February 5, 2015

But Equatorial Guinea fans are really an apology. This kinda conduct has no place in civilization. Utterly disgraceful. #Afcon2015

— Bernard Avle (@benkoku) February 5, 2015

This looks like a West Ham v Millwall game in the 1970s!

— Jon Benjamin (@JonBenjamin19) February 5, 2015

This is embarrassing

— Kuukuwa Manful (@Kuukuwa_) February 5, 2015

This is disgraceful. Does that mean that a match cannot be lost? This has damaged Equatorial Guinea’s reputation irreparably. #AFCON2015

— christopher opoku (@chrisrobin74) February 5, 2015

Unruly Equatorial Guinea fans risk losing any honor their country might gain from this tournament. Sad. #CAN2015

— Jemila Abdulai (@jabdulai) February 5, 2015

This is what happens when villagers come out to watch soccer, they dunno how to behave themselves””
