The ultimate prize package will consist of GHS 60,000 ($20,000), expert guidance and support to bring their business/dreams to life.

The competition was launched in November 2014 with a total of 785 young entrepreneurs signing up for the online application process. 482 successfully completed the process.

Commenting on the competition, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR for Tigo Ghana, Gifty Bingley, said: “We received very interesting and exciting entries that demonstrate the potential of using mobile broadband and ICT to improve living conditions. They included several young Tech entrepreneurs who are in need of support to start their business or need to scale up. As a digital lifestyle brand, Tigo is putting more emphasis on using ICT for development”.

Tigo Digital Change-makers is a partnership between telecom operator, Tigo and international NGO, Reach for Change. It is aimed at developing and encouraging social entrepreneurs to use technology to solve some of Ghana’s most pressing needs.
