Vodafone is highest market share gainer in ‘voice’ in 2014

Telecommunications giant, Vodafone Ghana was the highest market share gainer for mobile voice in the telecoms industry in the 2014 calendar year. This significant feat was achieved despite a drop in its subscriber base from an initial 7,137,501 in November 2014 to 7,069,516 in December 2014.

[contextly_sidebar id=”r9BFEBgDydamM6EQeg6MwFT3x5UP15mZ”]According to the National Communications Authority (NCA) monthly market share report, Vodafone Ghana ended December 2014 with a market share of 23.29%, up by 1.71% from an initial share of 21.58% as of December 2013.

The report revealed that Vodafone Ghana was the only Mobile Operator to have achieved this significant increase in an industry experiencing intense competition and constant change and innovation.

This achievement comes as no surprise to Vodafone, having built a resilient network while consistently using customer-led insights to develop products and services that meet the bespoke needs of their customers

Commenting on this achievement, Gayheart Mensah, Director of External Affairs at Vodafone Ghana said:

“At Vodafone Ghana, our strategy has always been to transform the experience for our customers; this is a key differentiator for us. They are at the heart of everything we do because without them we have no business. This ethos has enhanced our delivery of innovative and award-winning products, and impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives over the years. This growth is a reflection of our hard work and the great initiatives we continue to introduce in the market”.

Since acquiring Ghana Telecom in 2008, Vodafone has invested US$1.9 billion in infrastructure and capacity building to improve their network quality; a move that reflect a consistent strategy of ensuring that customers are empowered and confidently connected.

Vodafone, through its Foundation, is also known for delivering pioneering CSR initiatives that impact the nation whiles transforming the lives of Ghanaians.

These include the Ghana’s first medical call centre, Healthline 255 and the multiple award winning Healthline and its flagship, Mobile for Good initiative which uses technology as a tool to drive social change.
