Cold store owners at the Tema Harbour have said the unpredictable and unreliable power supply in the country is gradually grinding their businesses to a halt.

According to them, the situation is badly affecting their business as cartons of fish are left to go bad and discarded on a daily basis.
A distraught Vida Ackom; a cold store owner at Tema told Citi News’ Elvis Washington that “our fish are all going bad and this is becoming very costly to us.”
Another owner who gave her name as Ama Bea corroborated Vida Ackom’s story.
“As I talk to you, our lights are off now. Anytime it goes off, it is restored after three or four days,” she said.
The power crisis has worsened over the past few days with consumers enduring 24 hours of power cuts and 12 hours of power.
This has compelled a group of Concerned Ghanaians to organize a demonstration on Independence Day, 6th March against the worsening situation.
