Second FPSO to be ready in December 2015 – Tullow

Tullow Ghana Limited has told Citi Business News, the second Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit for the Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) Project should be in country by December this year.

[contextly_sidebar id=”rQxUlk728hNOFHHFYDm7geysZYZxKCgG”]The second FPSO being constructed on a land leased from the Ghana Navy is expected to start producing oil from the TEN fields from mid-2016.

The second FPSO is expected to produce some 75, 000 barrels of crude per day when it begins production and has a design life span of 20 years.

Speaking to Citi Business News, General Manager Tullow Ghana Limited, Charles Darko said the TEN projects were currently ahead of schedule.

“The TEN project is progressing steadily. We have just cross the 50% oval project completion and it’s on track. One of the key elements which is the FPSO is also progressing and we are expecting that by the end of this year it will be in Ghanaian waters so it’s on track. It will ramp up to it main plate of about 75,000 barrels per day, any time from mid-2015 to December 2016,” he explained.

Charles Darko disclosed that the first wells to deliver the oil have been drilled and that his outfit is committed to meeting its targets.

The second FPSO being built in Singapore will have an oil storage capacity of 1.7 million barrels and a gas capacity and water injection capacity of 170million standard cubic feet daily and 120,000 barrels water daily respectively.
