Justice Saeed Kweku Gyan, the judge presiding over the case involving the 12 labour unions and government over the tier two-pension funds, has decried the the slow progress of the case.

[contextly_sidebar id=”JnacnN4J8yhLYy4xbUHyzdBtgtiEwATW”]According to the judge, it is the duty of every party in the case to cooperate with the court so that the matter is adjudicated expeditiously for the interest in the nation.

The judge’s comment follows the failure of the Bank of Ghana, one of the defendants in the case, to move an application it earlier filed, with the excuse that they had not received the notice of service till early the morning of January 26.

The court in a previous hearing was compelled to adjourn sitting to January 26 because of the motion filed by the Bank of Ghana to set aside a counter-claim filed against them by the 12 defendants.

Meanwhile, the court in an earlier ruling banned the labour unions from embarking on further strikes.

The judge also urged the unions, especially its executives and members to exercise decorum and self restraint in the best interest of the country.
