State Housing MD accused of spending GH¢36,000 on phone bills

The Managing Director of the State Housing Company(SHC), Dr Mark Nii Akwei Ankrah has been accused of demanding and receiving an amount of GH36, 000 every month to pay for his phone bills.

[contextly_sidebar id=”Ez8ehijUZXF21pqQtr8m9iXMJSklYdZC”]This allegation by staff of the SHC forms part of several accusations leveled against their former Managing Director.

The staff of the company earlier accused Mr. Ankrah  of financial malfeasance and embezzlement of state funds.

Speaking to Citi News, the deputy Minister of Water Resources Works and Housing, Sampson Ahi said :“that is the allegation in a petition submitted to my honourable Minister Collins Dauda and we consider it to be an allegation until the committee tasked to look into the matter comes out with their full report”.

A three member committee was inaugurated on Friday to investigate the allegation of financial malfeasance leveled against Dr Mark Nii Akwei Ankrah.

When Citi News contacted Dr Mark Nii Akwei Ankrah on Saturday (24th January), he denied the allegations but refused to make further comments on the matter.
