Commercial drivers plying the Tech junction to the Central Business District in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region have returned to work after a sit-down strike on Monday.

The situation left many commuters and students who use that route stranded.

The drivers are accusing the police deployed to the area of extorting money from them on daily basis.

Citi News’ Ashanti Regional correspondent, Hawa Iddrisu who has been monitoring the situation reported that the drivers are hopeful the city authorities and the Ashanti Regional Police Command will address the matter.

Passengers who use the services of the drivers have heaved a sigh of relief at the return of the drivers.
