Board Chairman of the University for Development Studies (UDS) Governing Council has admonished the nation’s national security operatives to rapidly investigate the inferno which ravaged the nation’s central medical stores.
[contextly_sidebar id=”ryOEWYeDCwhjWQOM8ioLB5FyyNaQREX7″]Dr. Abdulai Salifu questioned the nation’s preparedness and the contribution of state agencies in anticipating and forestalling such national disasters.
He therefore called for the upgrading firefighting equipment and the training of citizens to detect fires.
Dr. Salifu Abdulai raised this concern at the third graduation of the UDS School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Tamale City campus where 33 fresh Doctors graduated.
He described as totally unacceptable countless fire outbreaks which have caused deaths and damaged private and state properties worth millions of cedis.
According to him, the continuous fires have overburdened government and inflicted hardship on the populace.
He therefore emphasized the need for the national security operatives to unravel the mystery surrounding the Tema central medical stores fire and apprehend the perpetrators.
He maintained that the increase in fire outbreaks was alarming for which reason the national security operatives must intensify their surveillance network to prevent such future disasters.
“We cannot just think and watch these things continue and continue as if there was no end in sight.”
He called for rapid response. “Four days was too much for such a fire to continue.”
