The convener of the Progressive Nationalist Forum Richard Nyamah has challenged President John Mahama to extend the zeal with which he suspended Ms Lauretta Lamptey, to dealing with other corruption scandals in the country.
[contextly_sidebar id=”iaVBBxtkbOUpL11vOlDGAawoYebwliWh”]This according to him is because the President cannot be said to be serious about the fight against corruption just because he asked the the Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Ms Lauretta Lamptey to step aside.
The CHRAJ boss has been accused of spending about $180,000 on rent and spending another huge sum on renovation of her official bungalow.
President Mahama on the advice of the Judicial Council suspended the beleaguered CHRAJ boss till the case of misconduct leveled against her is resolved.
“It’s a bold step but if he could extend this boldness to other cases it could help,” Richard Nyamah said.

Speaking in an interview with Citi News, Richard Nyamah charged the President to show commitment to battling what he calls “bigger corrupt acts” at the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA) amongst others.
He said the amount alleged to have been spent by the CHRAJ boss is less as compared to GH¢1.25 billion in GYEEDA, some GH¢400 million in SADA, the ISOFOTUN, which amounts to some estimated GH¢4 billion.”
