A Political Scientist, Dr. Amoako Baah is asking government to compel the National Disaster Management Orgnisation(NADMO) Boss, Kofi Portuphy to resign.

According to him, government’s decision to maintain him as the NADMO boss is a clear violation of Article 78, section 3 of the constitution.

There have been several calls for Portuphy to resign as the Coordinator of NADMO.

[contextly_sidebar id=”BKN5YJeaGOooByWystyU67kl1VsbHmCc”]Many have argued that his continuous stay in office, weeks after being sworn in as the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) is unacceptable.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Amoako Baah indicated that government should get him out of office as NADMO boss as it is inapporpriate for him to keep holding that position.

“… the Attorney General should read the law and tell them you can’t do that, you ought to resign.”

According to him, government should seek further interpretation and permission from Parliament  if it still wants to maintain Portuphy as the NADMO Cordinator.

“…We have to go Parliament for the Speaker to appoint a Committee and then look at the situation and come out and tell us that it is ok for you to hold this position…he cannot hold both positions at the same time”

Mr. Portuphy was elected the National Chiarman of the NDC in 2014.
