Local airline Starbow has hinted to Citi Business News it will resume flight operations to Tamale in February, 2015 after its takes delivery of two new aircrafts this month.
Starbow suspended flights to Tamale, late last year due to a significant drop in passengers that patronize their airline to and from Tamale to Accra.
[contextly_sidebar id=”8EYFZVTnp954Tzvjx4GlNuYz6MLJFlwb”]Speaking to Citi Business News the Chief Executive Officer of Starbow Airline James Eric Antwi said the new aircrafts will allow Starbow to increase its flights.
“We stopped flying to Tamale for economic reasons because we have our big aircraft and we were are not getting the numbers to Tamale and back and that is why we are bringing in a smaller aircraft which can contain the situation otherwise we will lose out as a company even on the present passenger load. We will resume our flights to Tamale in February after we take delivery of the two new Q400 Bombardier which has around 78 passenger capacity.”
Eric Antwi added that the acquisition ‘“will bring some flexibility to us where we can go to Kumasi, Takoradi and even Tamale anytime. It is a small aircraft and is also faster. I must also say it’s a new generation product fitted with all the modern equipment one can think of.”
We want our passengers to know the difference between the new generation and the old with the coming of this new aircraft because the new aircraft is fuel efficient and comfortable and much more reliable as well’. He said.
